Who writes this stuff, anyway?

Hi! Naomi here. I started this blog because I believe in the power of writing. It connects people. It makes people feel like they’re not so alone. I know other people are feeling the same things I’m feeling, too, and there’s comfort in that. I believe the moment a friend is made is the moment you say: “Me too!” And I hope to make many new friends through this little blog of mine.

I plan to write about journeying through my late twenties, which looks nothing like I thought it would look, and about some things close to my heart: faith, food, books and singleness. Also I may throw in some thoughts about the zany world of online dating. By day I’m the full-time editor of a community newspaper in Buffalo, New York. By night I’m a (new) blogger, social media enthusiast and lover of all things literary. I really love pizza – and think Buffalo makes it perfectly – and a good plate of pad Thai. On the weekends you’ll find me with my face in an old-school print newspaper, scheduling Twitter and Facebook posts for my part-time job as a social media coordinator or curled up with a good book. Thanks for reading this far.

I want to get to know my readers, so send me an email, leave me a comment or find me on Facebook or Twitter! Happy reading!

P.S. This is one of my favorite quotes:

After all,” Anne had said to Marilla once, “I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens but just those that bring simple little pleasures, following one another softly, like pearls slipping off a string.”
L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Avonlea
